We realize that in order to be successful in further development of the school, external funding is necessary. In order to ensure a mix of children from different ethnic and socio economic backgrounds, the kindergarten board has set up a scholarship fund. This fund will allow a child from an underprivileged family with an interest in the Steiner Waldorf philosophy to apply for partial or full scholarships.

If you are interested in sponsoring a Nicaraguan child it will cost a total of $1200 for one year. We would hope that a sponsor could commit to a three year sponsorship allowing a particular child the reassurance that their educational needs would be taken care of for an extended period. In turn you will be rewarded with knowing that you have given a child a wonderful opportunity.

It is a goal of the Sacuanjoche Kindergarten to create the opportunity for interested Nicaraguan school-teachers to get additional training and gain experience within the Steiner Waldorf pedagogy. This is a goal in itself, as well as a very important element in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Steiner Waldorf School in Nicaragua.

We realize that some would rather give a one time donation for daily activities such as our organic garden, natural materials for art projects, administrative and food costs, as well as general maintenance. You can be assured that contributions of all sizes go 100% into the further realization of this unique school.

The cost of an intensive three week course in Cuernavaca, Mexico, is 2150 USD, including transport, lodging, food and materials. Ideally, we would like to be able to offer the course to two local teachers for a total of 5 years each. This way, they would obtain a Degree as Steiner Waldorf pedagogues.

We hope, through donations and sponsorship, to offer this unique education to as many Nicaraguans as possible. At the moment we still have significant start-up costs, most notably renovating and equipping the colonial house that we are renting to serve as the kindergarten’s premises.

• The purchasing or donating of materials/furniture/equipment for the       kindergarten

• Wooden, hand-made chairs for children, 90 C$/unit, or 5 USD/unit.
• For 10 USD you can buy pain for all of the water color projects for the kindergarten for a month. Yearly expense: 120 USD/year.
• Two wooden tables, that together form a hexagonal, cost 2700 C$, or 150 USD.
• Donation of used computer and printer for the Kindergarten office
